What is Mailer-Daemon?
It's the automated system that emails you back when a message couldn't be delivered. That reply contains the exact reason it failed.

What do the 5.x.x and 4.x.x codes mean?
A code that starts with 5 (e.g. 550) is a permanent error — the message won't get through without a fix. A code that starts with 4 is temporary, and delivery is retried automatically.
